Hello blog walkies~ Hows yer day? OKIE DOKIE! TODAY WAS PRETTY AWESOME FOR ME CAUSE.... ( drum rolls*)
IT'S MID- AUTUMN FESTIVAL a.k.a MOONCAKE FESTIVAL a.k.a LANTERN FESTIVAL~ This is the day where many families will sit outside at their garden and enjoy eating mooncakes, drinking chinese tea ( or most preferably gas drinks now as they're easily found and of course, cheaper for parties and stuff like that), eating pomeloes.... E.t.c The kids will mostly hold their colourful lanterns of all sorts of shapes and sizes, it might be a cute bunny, a rooster, a cow, some random cartoon characters, you name it, and walk around the neighborhood. And some old folks will tell the childrens stories from the olden days about Chang Er who flew to the moon after eating a pill ( it was said that if you ate the pill, you will be YOUNG FOREVER! ) , Wu Gang who keeps on cutting a tree, but it will grow back.. and all sorts of myths. Even though we heard it all the time, it's still like a tradition to do it or listen to the story every year. It NEVER gets old.
OF COURSE. I celebrated it too. With my family, my friends and my neighbors~ My granny prepared many dishes and of course I played with my friends Dancing like mad women~ ( too bad KJ had to go back early, and Phey EE couldn't come) LAter, Jih Ian and I went on an exploration trip around the neighborhood we used an English style lantern ( the metal ones, those you can get at IKEA)and stroll around the neighborhood with binoculars. We LOOk AROUND~ TOO THE LEFT, TO THE RIGHT LOOKING, SEARCHING, FINDING FOR THE MOON. And at last~ WE MANAGED TO TAKE A GLIMPSE OF A FULL NICE ROUND MOON~
It was a really meaningful day for me cause I hardly get parties like that at home~ I really enjoyed myself and THANKS SOOOOO MUCH to the mooncake festival party organiser, my dear granny~ Thanks for making such a wonderful party~
And here is a song related to the moon and stars~ HAHA SECRET- MOONLIGHT, STARLIGHT Enjoy~ and again, HAPPY MOONCAKE FESTIVAL~ :D
